Rodger and Lichtensteiger named WSOC Players of the Week
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Soccer Player of the Week Awards, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Lourdes' Emmy Rodger as the Defensive Player of the Week and Aquinas' Maeva Lichtensteiger as the Offensive Player of the Week.
Rodger earns her second WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. The senior goalkeeper posted a pair of clean sheets last week with a 1-0 win over Olivet and a 0-0 draw with Bethel. Rodger made five total saves and remains undefeated, allowing zero goals on the campaign. Aquinas' Lichtensteiger earns her first Offensive Player of the Week honor this season after leading the Saints to a 7-1 win over WHAC foe Indiana Tech. The senior forward from Monkton, Ontario, Canada netted her first career hat trick in the conference victory, scoring three goals on seven shots.
