Women's Volleyball Conference Honors Released
LIVONIA, Mich. - (COMPLETE HONORS) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released its season honors for women's volleyball as voted on by head coaches in the league.
Jodie Kelly of Madonna repeated as Player of the Year as she lead the WHAC with 431 total kills and 3.95 kills per set. She also is second in the league in hitting percentage at .250. Carly Rodman of Rochester was named Defender of the Year with a league-high 6.85 digs per set to become the first-ever Warrior to earn an individual honor. Siena Heights' Aubrey Bates earned Setter of the Year after averaging 9.88 assists per set. Madonna's Molly Miller was votes as Newcomer of the Year after she posted 310 kills and 22 service aces.
Indiana Tech head coach Kourtney Wilson picked up her first Coach of the Year award after guiding the Warriors to a third-place team finish, up one spot from the previous year's finish. Tech also lead the WHAC with 1689 kills (12.70 kills per set). The coaches selected Danielle Cook of Concordia as the Champions of Character Coach for her commitment to building character through sport.
In additon to the individual honors, the WHAC named its All-Conference Teams including an All-Freshman Team, an All-Academic Team for junior and above in academic standing with cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at nomination institution for one full year, and Champions of Character Team consisting of one member from each team who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
