Cheer honors
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced the 2023 season honors for competitive cheer in conjunction with the conference championship.
Aquinas head coach Amy Jacobson was voted by her peers as Coach of the Year and Brescia head coach Demi Wooldridge was awarded Champions of Character Coach for her commitment to developing and displaying character in the sport.
Concordia freshman Zion Moorman was named both Cheerleader of the Year Newcomer of the Year. All-Conference honors were awarded based on an official voting panel during auditions at the championship.
In addition to All-Conference, the WHAC also named its All-Academic Team for juniors or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA. Nominees also must have been in attendance at the nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team consists of one student-athlete from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
