Concordia Wins Sixth-Straight WHAC Cheer Championship
ADRIAN, Mich. - For the sixth consecutive season, Concordia University has claimed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Competitive Cheer championship. The 2024 event was hosted by Siena Heights University.
The Cardinals were the first to compete in the preliminary round based on the pre-event draw and they set the tone right away, posting a 90.3 score which was the best in the round by nearly nine points. They followed it up with a 90.83 in the final round to earn a total score of 90.6975 for the victory. Lourdes earned a second place finish, improving on its third place finish a season ago. The Gray Wolves improved drastically from their preliminary round (81.93) to a 86.43 in the finals to place second. Rochester Christian University placed third and scored their highest prelim and final round scores in program history.
The win gives Concordia the WHAC's automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship which is set to take place March 29-30 at Easter Michigan University in Ypsilanti.
