Men's Basketball Conference Honors Released

LIVONIA, Mich. - (Complete Honors) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its conference honors for men's basketball for the 2021-22 season.

Christian Rodriguez of Cornerstone was named the Player of the Year after leading the league with 21.6 points per game. Cory McKinney of Indiana Tech repeated as Defensive Player of the Year with 82 rebounds, 48 steals, and 11 blocks. Joey Holifield of Lourdes received Newcomer of the Year with 15.7 points per game.

Indiana Tech head coach Ted Albert was voted as Coach of the Year after leading the Warriors to their second conference title and an 18-2 WHAC record. UNOH's Caleb Williams earned Champions of Character Coach for his commitment to the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

In addition to All-Conference, the WHAC also named its All-Academic Team for juniors or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA. Nominees also must have been in attendance at the nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team consists of one bowler from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.

Newcomer of the Year – Joey Holifield, Lourdes

Coach of the Year – Ted Albert, Indiana Tech

Champions of Character Coach – Caleb Williams, UNOH
