Indiana Tech Crowned Men's Bowling National Champions

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - (NAIA Release) - Indiana Tech won the 2022 NAIA Men's Bowling National Championship inside Five Star Lanes by battling through the elimination bracket and forcing an if-necessary match against University of St. Francis (Ill.). The Warriors placed two on the All-Tournament Team in Marcus McClain and James Bennett and McClain was named the Tournament MVP.

After six sets of four Baker games on the opening day, IT finished with a score of 4,788 and was seeded seventh for bracket play. The Warriors defeated No. 10 William Penn (Iowa) and then sent second-seeded Saint Xavier (Ill.) to the elimination bracket. IT fell to third-seeded St. Francis and where the Warriors eliminated William Penn and SCAD. This set up a rematch between USF and IT, which Tech won 3-2 after overcoming a 2-1 deficit and force the if necessary match.

Tech took the first two games 238-204 and 162-153, but the Fighting Saints took the next with two 222-204 and 244-243. That left one final game which Tech won 175-171 to win the national title in the second year sponsored by the NAIA.
