2024 Men's Golf Honors Announced

AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the 2024 Men's Golf Honors in conjunction with the championship tournament. Lawrence Tech won the tournament to claim the conference championship.

Luis Pacheco (Lawrence Tech) and Luke Turner (UNOH) were named Co-Golfers of the Year. Golfer of the Year took into account the results from the Fall Preview Stroke Play and the Spring Championship event. Pacheco won the fall preview, shooting three under while Turner was tied for third at one under for the event. Turner won the WHAC championship, shooting +6 while Pacheco was in second at +8. Both were a combined five over for the two events, netting them Co-Golfer of the Year honors. 

Cornerstone's Landon Wanless was voted by the head coaches as the Newcomer of the Year. Wanless finished tied for eighth at the WHAC Championships (+13) and tied for the stroke play win at the Fall preview (-1). 

Lawrence Tech's Scott Marzolino took home Coach of the Year honors for leading Lawrence Tech to the team title. This is his second award in the last three seasons. 

Siena Heights' Andrew Ioanou was named the Champion of Character Coach for his commitment to the NAIA Five Core Values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. 

All-Conference (first and second team) honors were selected by the lowest scores from the WHAC Preview Stroke play round plus the Spring Conference Championship. 

In addition to All-Conference, the league awarded All-Academic to sophomores or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team included on golfer from each school who was nominated by their head coach for best representing the NAIA core values.
