Indiana Tech set to host Opening Round of NAIA Men's Soccer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the teams and pairings for the 2021-22 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round, Presented by Select Sport America with Indiana Tech serving as one of 10 host sites. The 40-team NAIA Opening Round event will be played on campuses across the nation from November 18-20.
Each bracket format features four teams with #1 vs. #4 and #2 vs. #3 on Thursday, November 18th. The winner of each contest will meet on Saturday for a spot at the final site in Decatur, Ala. The 63rd Annual Men's Soccer National Championship will be played at Jack Allen Sports Complex from Nov. 30-Dec. 6.
Indiana Tech pulled the top seed in the Fort Wayne bracket with a 16-1-3 record. This is the third trip to the Opening Round for the Warriors (2009, 2019). Milligan (Tenn.) is making its second OR appearance (2020) and landed as a No. 2 seed with a 15-2-1 record. The third seed, William Penn (Iowa), sports a 12-7-0 record in its third appearance (2019, 2020). Rounding out the four teams, Warner Pacific (Ore.) sits at 16-3-2 in its second OR appearance (2009).
