Indiana Tech advances to NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Site

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (NAIA Release) - Indiana Tech used the home pitch advantage to win the Fort Wayne Bracket of the 2021 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round. This is the third consecutive year the Warriors have hosted an OR bracket and the first time since 2009 that they advanced. Tech now travels to the championship site. The 63rd Annual NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship will be played at Jack Allen Soccer Complex in Decatur, Alabama from Nov. 30 - Dec. 6, 2021.

Indiana Tech def. Warner Pacific (Ore.), 4-0 Box Score
Tech's offense was potent, scoring four goals off 16 shots. Antonio Marra recorded the game winner in the 43rd minute after a beautiful cross by Jonas Kahlman and header attempt by Will Harris. Marc Junca recorded a hat-trick in the second half. He scored in the 50th minute on a header from a cross from Jonas Kahlman cross for a 2-0 lead. Then, in the 66th minute, Angel De Jorge headed the ball off a corner kick to the perfect spot for Junca to strike and score. Junca's third goal came off a corner by Malte Dennert as WPU's goalkeeper mis-judged where the ball was placed and left Junca with a wide-open net. The Warriors only allowed Warner Pacific to attempt two shots the entire game while tallying 16 shots. Jaume Salvado picked up a pair of saves in the shutout. Alexis Caldrilla-Hurtado had three saves in the loss and Luis Hernandez had two.

William Penn entered the match after a 3-1 win over Milligan (Tenn.). Luke Jones scored the game winner just six minutes into the game as Indiana Tech fired off seven shots in the first frame. After giving the helper on the first goal, Maxwell Amoako gave the team some insurance by scoring in the 70th minute. Statesmen keeper Harry Nash, as well as Warrior keeper Jaume Salvado, tallied three saves. WPU ends the season at 13-8-0 while the Warriors improve to 18-1-3.
