Martinez and Brun win Final WHAC MSOC Weekly Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its final Men's Soccer Player of the Week Awards, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen David Martinez (Indiana Tech) as the Defensive Player of the Week and Yan Brun (Madonna) as the Offensive Player of the Week. Martinez was stellar in goal for the Warriors as they earned a 3-0 victory over Cornerstone in the WHAC tournament quarterfinals and advanced to the semis. Martinez made three saves to earn his third shutout of the season. On offensive, it was a phenomenal effort from Yan Brun that helped push Madonna past Lawrence Tech 2-1 in the quarterfinals. Brun scored a first half goal, then, with the game tied, found the game winner with just 17 seconds remaining on the clock to send the Crusaders to the next round.
