Indiana Tech Wins Fifth-Straight WHAC Men's Soccer Tournament Title

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - (Box Score)In a rematch of the winner-take-all regular season finale, Aquinas and Indiana Tech faced off once again with high stakes on the line on Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids. This time, it was #2 Indiana Tech who got the best of #1 Aquinas to earn the WHAC Tournament Championship and a trip to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. Indiana Tech wins their fifth-consecutive tournament title. Aquinas earned the WHAC regular season auto-bid and will await their matchup in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.

It did not take long for Indiana Tech to get on the board with the first goal. WHAC Midfielder of the Year Lucca Motta used an assist from Douglas Appiah Kubi in the 10th minute to put the Warriors on top. That would be all the scoring until Andreas Michael scored in the 66th minute on the Warren Moss assist to make it 2-0. The goal would prove important as just moments later, in the 70th minute, WHAC Offensive Player of the Year, Ricardo Rittersberger scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead in half. Despite a late push by Aquinas, Indiana Tech held off the Saints to earn the tournament title.
