2024 Men's Volleyball Honors Released

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced conference honors for the 2023-24 men's volleyball season. First and Second Team All-Conference consist of 14 individuals per team. The All-Freshman team consists of six players. Additional awards include: Player of the Year, Libero of the Year, Setter of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Champion of Character Coach, Champion of Character Team and All-Academic. Awards are selected based on a vote of all WHAC men's volleyball head coaches.

Outside hitter Eduardo Ayala of Lourdes repeated as WHAC Player of the Year. The senior led Lourdes to a regular season title and was first in the conference in kills (276), second in kills per set (4.45) and second in hitting percentage (.364). Cornerstone's Kyi Jagorin was named the Libero of the Year. The senior was fourth in the conference in digs (156) and digs per set (2.60) and eight in total receptions (336). Cornerstone setter Patrick Voloch earned Setter of the Year honors. The junior was second in the WHAC in assists per set (10.47) and third in assists (670) as well as being fifth in service aces (28). Ernest Broaster, a junior from Cornerstone, was named the Newcomer of the Year. Broaster was third in the conference in kills (272), kills per set (4.39) and first in hitting percentage (.380). 

Cornerstone's Alex Bahn was voted by his peers as the Coach of the Year. Bahn led Cornerstone to 15-3 conference record, its best in program history and good for a second place regular season finish, also a program best. Doug Sherer from Mount Vernon Nazarene was named the Champion of Character Coach for the fourth time for his commitment to the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

In addition to All-Conference awards, the WHAC also released its All-Academic and Champions of Character honors. The All-Academic Team consists of sophomores or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA who have been in attendance at their school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team is comprised of one player from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
