Women's Bowling: Concordia Wins Greater Detroit Classic

ALLEN PARK, Mich. - (Complete Results) The Greater Detroit Classic at Thunderbowl Lanes was the final WHAC regular season event of the 2023-24 season and Concordia earned the victory with a combined total of 6967 pins (3134 baker, 3833 team). The win was the second of the season WHAC slate for Concordia who also won the first WHAC event of the year, the Grand Rapids Classic. Finishing just behind Concordia were the Warriors of Indiana Tech who knocked down 6,840 total pins (3,066 baker, 3,774 team). Indiana Tech finished the WHAC schedule with a pair of wins to go with a second place and third place finish. Finishing in third was Cleary for the second time in the four-event conference schedule. Cleary knocked down 6,676 pins, four better than Madonna's 6,672 to earn the top-three finish. Kayla VanLinden from Aquinas was the top finisher with a four-game total of 888, good for a 222 average. Her high game came in the third when she bowled a 255. She followed that up with a 236 in her fourth to seasl the win. Gabriella VanHorn from Concordia was the second highest WHAC placer (third overall) with a 866 (216.5 avg). Indiana Tech's Morgan Nunn was the third-best WHAC finisher (fourth overall) with an 829 (207.25 avg). Next up is the WHAC Championships which are set for Saturday, Feb. 17 at Royal Scot in Lansing, Mich.
