Bethel's Swope name NAIA WLAX National Defensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) - The NAIA named Samantha Swope of Bethel as its Women's Lacrosse National Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 17, 2022. Swope recorded the third shutout in team history last week as the sophomore made 23 saves on the week in three wins as she played all 180 minutes during the week.

Her teammate, Jenna Crockett, earned national offensive honors for the week.

Swope is the sixth WHAC player to earn a women's lacrosse national award. She joins Bella Burke and Annabelle Acluche, both of Lawrence Tech as defensive winners. Crockett and Hope VanProyen, also of Bethel, have both won offensive honors.
