Lawrence Tech Takes Women's Lacrosse Tournament Title

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - (Tournament Page) - It all came down to the final quarter as Lawrence Tech scored three unanswered goals to win the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament title with a 15-14 victory over Siena Heights. It's LTU's second consecutive tournament crown and fourth overall.

The teams played to a 12-12 tie at the end of three periods after Siena Heights tied the score late in the period when Alexis Kuhns found the cage off an assist by Madison Spell. SHU carried that momentum to the fourth, scoring back-to-back goals for a 14-12 advantage with 12:32 left.

Thirty seconds later, Abby Barnewold found Bella Burke to pull Lawrence Tech to within a goal. LTU scored again 11 minutes later for a 14-14 tie and Belle Burke scored her second goal of the game with 2:16 on the clock for the game-winner.

With the win, Lawrence Tech received the WHAC's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship.
