Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket Released
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (TOURNAMENT PAGE) - Aquinas sits as the top seed in the 2021 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Soccer Tournament after winning its second consecutive regular-season championship. The top eight teams at the end of regular season qualify for the tournament and are seeded based on order of finish. The first round is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 3 with the semifinals on Nov. 6. The two remaining teams face off in the championship match on Nov. 13.
The Saints have won the tournament three times (2007, 2011, and 2018) and will host eighth-seeded Indiana Tech. Last year's tournament champion Madonna takes the second seed and hosts seventh-seeded Lawrence Tech after LTU lost a tiebreaker to Concordia. Four-time tournament champ UNOH sits at the third seed and welcomes sixth-seeded Concordia. Siena Heights is the fourth seed to cap the four quarterfinal hosts and plays fifth-seeded.
As conference champion, Aquinas earned the league's first automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round. The second berth goes to the tournament champion, with the tournament runner-up receiving the berth should Aquinas win.
