Shuk and Cheney win WHAC Weekly Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Soccer Players of the week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen Aquinas' Kayla Shuk as the Defensive Player of the Week and Siena Heights' Parker Cheney as the Offensive Player of the Week. Cheney helped the Saints finish 2-0 on the weekend to claim a share of the WHAC regular season title and the #1 seed in the upcoming WHAC tournament. She scored a pair of game winning goals and added an assist in wins over UM-Dearborn and Cleary. Defensively, Kayla Shuk picks up her second Defensive Player of the Week honor, helping Aquinas to a share of the WHAC regular season title. Shuk made four saves to pick up two more shutouts. She leads th NAIA with 13 this season. Aquinas didn't allow a goal the entire conference season and has kept 14-straight clean sheets.
