Voyles and Korte Claim First Indoor Weekly Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's. 

WHAC SID's have selected Lisa Voyles (Indiana Tech) as the Track Athlete of the Week and Lena Korte (Concordia) as the Field Athlete of the Week. Voyles was stellar once again in the 3000m at the Notre Dame Blue & Gold event. She won the race and hit an NAIA A standard, broke a school record, and hit a personal best with a time of 9:46.70. She now holds nine school records including every one from 800 to 3000 meters. Lena Korte won the Field Athlete of the Week for her work in the throws which earned her two PR's and two school records and an NAIA A standard. Korte placed third with a 14.41 in the shot put and also hit a PR in Weight Throw with a 15.14.
