Genzink and Korte earn Player of the Week Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

WHAC SID's have selected Sara Genzink (Cornerstone) as the Track Athlete of the Week and Lena Korte (Concordia) as the Field Athlete of the Week. Genzink set a new PR and hit an NAIA B standard with her win in the 400m at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open. She ran the event in 58.36 to take down first place. Korte earns her second award in three weeks thanks to her win and NAIA A standard in the shot put at the SVSU Classic. Korte threw 13.48m for her in in the shot put and also finished sixth in the weight throw with a 14.57.
