UNOH and Madonna Advance to Baseball Championships Series

LIMA, Ohio - (TOURNAMENT PAGE) - Madonna emerged from Pod A with a 3-1 record while UNOH used extra innings to win Pod B 3-0 to set up the championship series of the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Baseball Tournament.

After going 1-1 on the first day in Pod A, third-seeded Madonna won back-to-back games on the second day to advance. The Crusaders' bats got hot on Friday, recording 20 hits in the two games as MU defeated Cornerstone 7-4 and Lawrence Tech 11-1.

In Pod B, top-seeded UNOH and fifth-seeded Indiana Tech both won on the first day only to have the final game of the day postponed to May 6 due to rain. The rain did not let up, forcing a doubleheader on May 7. Both games went extra innings with UNOH winning the first 4-3 in 10 and the second 1-0 in 10.

UNOH now hosts the best of 3 championship series starts May 9 with the first pitch at 3 p.m. The second game is slated for noon on May 10 with the if necessary game following at 3 p.m.

UNOH received the league's first automatic bid to NAIA Baseball Opening Round and Madonna earns the second auto berth regardless of the outcome of the tournament.
