Digennaro and Puccetti wins final baseball weekly awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Players of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's. 

WHAC SID's have selected Dominic Puccetti (Lawrence Tech) as the Pitcher of the Week and Nick Digennaro (Loures) as the Player of the Week. Puccetti improved on his 13-strikeout gem a week ago by striking out a career-high 16 in a complete game shutout against Cornerstone this week. He allowed just two hits and one walk in the effort for his second-straight Player of the Week honor. Digennaro helped lift Lourdes to the final playoff spot with a huge week at the plate. He had eight extra basehits, four home runs, three doubles and a triple and drove in 11 runs while scoring eight. He slugged 2.083 for the week.
