Indiana Tech Repeats as Men's Outdoor Track & Field Champion

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - (COMPLETE RESULTS) - Indiana Tech scored 190.5 points to win the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Concordia. The Warriors saw five individual champions and one relay champion in capturing their ninth title. Aquinas finished second with 180 points while Madonna (147) and Siena Heights (138.5) rounded out the teams breaking the 100-point mark.

IT's Shamari Somerville was named the Outstanding Performer after winning the triple jump with the fifth-best mark in the NAIA at 14.84m and a which is a new WHAC record. Cortez Cunningham of Madonna was named the Most Valuable Performer as he won the 200m, finished second in the 100m, and was a member of the winning 4x100 relay team. Newcomer of the Year went to Jacob Harberts of Siena Heights. The freshman won the 1500m and finished second in the 800m while running the last leg of the third-place 4x800 relay.

Indiana Tech head coach Doug Edgar was named Coach of the Year after leading the Warriors to their ninth-straight title and Madonna's Stacy Latnie was voted as Champions of Character Coach.

In addition to Somerville's tripe jump record, two more meet records were broken as Luke Pohl ran a 14:33.34 in the 5000m and Noah Cunningham of Siena Heights had a record mark of 59.97 in the javelin.

The top three finishers in each event plus relays earn All-Conference honors with the winner named First Team, the runner-up named Second Team, and the third-place finisher named Honorable Mention.
