SHU's Carter to Participate in WBCA Program

ATLANTA - (WBCA Release | SHU Release ) - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) selected Siena Heights senior Alix Carter for the 2022 "So You Want To Be A Coach" program. It's the 19th year of the program and Carter becomes the fifth member of the SHU women's basketball program to be selected. Past participants from SHU were Jen Hoffman, Jessie Arnold, RaShawn Calvert, and Dakota Spears.

Carter will join over 50 other participants from colleges and universities all over the country and at every level in the "So" program. This selective program assists female collegiate basketball players who are interested in pursuing a career in coaching by providing them with professional development and career advancement through education, skills enhancement, networking, and exposure opportunities.

Qualified candidates must have exhausted their final year of basketball eligibility at a four-year institution or have graduated within the past year and must be nominated by their WBCA-member head coach. Each participant is selected based on her academics, contributions to women's basketball on and off the court, professional resume´ and a written recommendation from their head coach.
