Indiana Tech Returns to Top of Women's Basketball

FORT WAYNE, Ind.- Indiana Tech won the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHA) Women's Basketball championship with a 19-1 conference record. It's the Warriors fourth championship in five years having also won the title in 2018, 2019, and 2020. The lone conference loss came at the hands of Lawrence Tech from a three-point loss on Jan. 7.

Last year's champion Rochester finished second at 16-4 and Siena Heights rounded out the top three at 15-5. The top eight teams qualify for the WHAC Tournament as Concordia (14-6) landed in fourth, Lawrence Tech in fifth (11-9), and Aquinas in sixth (10-10). UM-Dearborn (9-11) and Madonna (7-13) took seventh and eighth. Lourdes (3-17) and UNOH (1-19) will miss the tournament

With the championship comes the top seed for the WHAC Tournament starting Feb. 22 on campus sites and the WHAC's automatic berth to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship Opening Round.
