Women's Basketball Honors Announced

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (Complete Honors) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its 2021-22 Women's Basketball season honors.

For the first time since the very first year of competition, Co-Players of the Year were awarded. Emma Tuominen of Indiana Tech and Peyton Banks of Siena Heights shared the honor. It's Tuominen's first individual honor and the third for Banks. Marissa Brady of Aquinas repeated as Defensive Player of the Year and Newcome of the Year went to Lauren Wynn of Rochester.

Indiana Tech head coach Jessie Biggs earned Coach of the Year after leading the Warriors to their fourth conference championship with a 19-1 WHAC record. Cornerstone's Jessica Yonkers was voted as Champions of Character Coach.

In addition to All-Conference, the WHAC also named its All-Academic Team for juniors or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA. Nominees also must have been in attendance at the nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team consists of one bowler from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
