2024 WHAC Women's Basketball Tournament Starts Today!
The bracket for the 2023-24 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Basketball Tournament is set and action begins tonight, Feb. 28. The top eight teams from the regular season standings qualify for the tournament which features a single-elimination bracket.
Indiana Tech enters as the top-seed following a perfect regular season conference record which earned them their third-straight WHAC regular season title. Siena Heights checks in as the #2 seed after finishing 20-2 with their only losses coming to the Warriors of Indiana Tech. The #3 seed is Concordia with a 17-5 conference record followed by Cornerstone with its 13-9 regular season mark. Defending tournament champions, Rochester, finished 11-11 in their regular season and will be the #5 seed. The lone tie in the top eight was between Lourdes and Lawrence Tech for the #6/#7 seeds. Lourdes held the head-to-head tiebreaker with a 2-0 record against LTU and earns the #6 seed. The final team to make the tournament is Aquinas with its 9-13 regular season record earning them the #8 seed.
The quarterfinals take place on Feb. 28 with the semifinal games set for Friday, Mar. 1. The championship game will take place on Monday, Mar. 4. All games will be hosted by the higher seed in the matchup. A bid to the NAIA National Championships is on the line. If regular season champion Indiana Tech wins the tournament, the bid will go to the tournament runner-up.
