Indiana Tech's Season Comes to Close in Round of 16

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - (Box Score)The season came to a close for Indiana Tech inside the Tyson Events Center on Friday, March 22. No. 7 Briar Cliff (Iowa) handed the Warriors 78-52 loss to bring their first trip to the round of 16 since the 2018-19 season to an end. The season was a historic one for the Warriors who went undefeated in conference play to win both the WHAC regular season and tournament titles. They wrap up the campaign with a 30-4 overall records, winning 30 games for the fifth time since the 2016-17 season. 

Briar Cliff used a stellar defensive effort to hold Tech to just 34.5% from teh field and 17.6% from three point range. Despite that, the Warriors trailed by just three points after the first quarter. A big second quarter from Briar Cliff sent them into the break leading 33-23. Briar Cliff came out of the locker room on fire, scoring 31 points to effectively put the game out of reach for the Warriors who ultimately fell 78-52. Genevieve Decker led Indiana Tech in scoring with 14 points followed by Juliana Burris with 13. WHAC Player of the Year, Erika Foy was held to eight points as was starter Taylor Covinton. Foy led IT in rebounds with eight. Bethany Worm dished out four assists, three rebounds and blocked a shot.
