Madonna, Cornerstone headed to NAIA Women's Volleyball Opening Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has officially announced the qualifying teams and Opening Round pairings for the 2021 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship, including Madonna and Cornerstone from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). The 48-team event will get underway with 24 National Championship Opening Round matches at campus locations on November 20. Opening Round winners advance to pool play Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Madonna (29-5), making its ninth trip to the Opening Round, won both the WHAC regular season and tournament titles to claim the leagues first automatic berth. The Crusaders travel to 20th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan (21-4) and are one of only two teams with 20 or more trips overall to the national postseason.

Cornerstone (24-14), qualified as the WHAC tournament runner up and is making its fifth OR match. The Golden Eagles have a road trip to ninth-ranked Midland (Neb.).
