Cerven and Heredia-Bustos take Baseball Weekly Honors
Ben Cerven of Cleary and Rolando Heredia-Bustos of UNOH have been named the weekly award winners in baseball for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).
Cerven took Player of the Week batting .467 with 10 RBI and two home runs. The junior also stole two bases and hit for a single, double, and triple against UNOH.
Heredia-Bustos picked up Pitcher of the Week with a three-hit complete game where he struck out 12 and gave up one earned run.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ben Cerven, Cleary
(Jr, IF - Decatur, Mich.) - Helped the Cougars sweep both Madonna and UNOH over the weekend. Ben saw his 8-game hitting streak come to an end in game 2 vs. UNOH, but he did draw a walk and an intentional walk in the game. In game 1 vs. UNOH, he was a home run short of the cycle. He finished the week with three multi-RBI games, 5 extra base hits, and 17 total bases.
