UNOH Crowned as Men's Tennis Tournament Champion

LIMA, Ohio - (TOURNAMENT PAGE) - UNOH made it a clean sweep, winning both the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Tennis regular season championship and tournament championship. The top-seeded Racers defeated No. 3 Cornerstone 4-0 at Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center. UNOH has now won the last eight tournament titles of the 10 tournaments been held since the sport was reistated as a conference sport in 2011. 

As the top seed, the Racers enjoyed a bye in the first round and blanked Lawrence Tech in the semifinals. Cornerstone defeated No. 6 Lourdes in the first round and upset second-seeded Indiana Tech 4-2 in the semis.

In the championship match, UNOH took the double point, winning both the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. WHAC Player of the Year Sergio Conde won his No. 1 singles match while Malik Omarkhanov and Nils Messin won at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively.  

With the win, UNOH receives the WHAC's automatic berth to the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship May 16-20 in Mobile, Ala.
