Concordia Crowned as Baseball Champion

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Concordia etched its name in the history book, winning its first-ever Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Baseball Championship. The Cardinals took the 2023 crown with a league record of 26-5 and a WHAC winning percentage of .878. Teams were assigned to play four games against five opponents and two games against six opponents. A minimum of 26 conference games must be played and the championship is determined by winning percentage.

Madonna finished second at a .667 winning percentage (24-6) and last year's champion UNOH finished third at .578 (22-10). Aquinas, and Indiana Tech rounded out the top five. A game suspended on April 3 between Cleary and Lawrence Tech needs to be completed on May 2 to determine the sixth and seventh places in the standings.

CUAA, who finished sixth last season, hit .328 on the year and plated 474 runs to lead the league. They had a conference-low 3.68 ERA and notched 377 strikeouts. The Cardinals now sit as the top seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament and will host one of the two pods.
