Concordia and Madonna Head West for NAIA Baseball Opening Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  - (NAIA Release) - Concordia and Madonna learned their respective travel schedules for the 2023 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round when the NAIA announced the 46-team field and pairings. The 14th annual event takes place May 15-18 at 10 host sites nationwide. Six of the sites will feature five-team, double-elimination tournaments while the final four brackets will sport only four squads each. The winners of all 10 Opening Round sites will head to Lewiston, Idaho for the 66th Annual Avista NAIA Baseball World Series running from May 26 – June 2. 

Conference champion Concorida travels to Lewiston, Idaho for the Lewiston Bracket as the third seed. The Cardinals join top-seeded Hope International (Calif.), second seeded Science & Arts (Okla.), and host Lewis-Clark State. CUAA and USAO play at 2:30 p.m. (Eastern) on May 15.

WHAC Tournament winner Madonna is in the Fayette Bracket out of Missouri. The Crusaders sit as the fourth seed and join top-seeded Southeastern (Fla.), second-seeded Kansas Wesleyan, third-seeded Central Methodist (Mo.), and fifth-seeded St. Francis. (Ill.). Madonna and St. Francis get things going at noon (Eastern) on May 15.
