Three Earn NAIA All-American Baseball Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2022-23 Baseball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches? Association All-America Committee on Tuesday afternoon. The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) saw a trio of players named to the 2nd team All-America list including Drew Fleming and Tyson Kleinfelter from Concordia and Anthony Sharkas from Madonna.

Drew Fleming's decorated season included being named the WHAC Player of the Year and Newcomer of the year. The Davison, Mich. native led his squad in home runs (27) and drove in 79 runs. His 27 home runs were third-most in the NAIA this season.

Tyson Kleinfelter was also a well-honored member of the WHAC as he was named the conference Pitcher of the Year at season?s end. Kleinfelter was 11-2 with an earned run average of 2.77 with 103 punch outs. His 11 wins was good for second in the NAIA this season.

The final WHAC All-American is Anthony Sharkas from Madonna. The junior outfielder put up a historic season for the Crusaders, hitting .455 with eight home runs and 49 RBI in 53 games played. He was a First Team All-WHAC selection and helped the Crusaders to a WHAC tournament title in 2023.
