Besser and Mazzola win Weekly Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Players of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's. 

WHAC SID's have selected Grant Besser (Indiana Tech) as the Pitcher of the Week and Payton Mazzola (Madonna) as the Player of the Week. Besser tossed a complete game shutout in a WHAC win over Siena Heights. He allowed just three hits, striking out 13 and walking just three. Mazzola had a huge weekend to lead Madonna to a four game sweep of UM-Dearborn. Mazzola had four multi-hit games while scoring 11 runs, driving in 11, ripping three doubles a triple and two home runs in the process.
