Madonna's Stepek, Cleary's Roberts Named Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Players of the Week Award, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen Tyler Stepek (Madonna) as the Player of the Week and Will Roberts (Cleary) as the Pitcher of the Week. Stepek led the Crusaders in hitting with a .500 average and an ops of 1.533. Eight of his 15 hits went for extra bases including four doubles and four home runs. He drove in 13 runs and stole five bases. Cleary's Roberts threw a no-hitter in a seven-inning win over Siena Heights. The senior allowed just one walk to lead off the game, then retired the next 20 batters after getting the initial runner out on a double-play. He faced the minimum 21 batters in what was just the second no-hitter in program history.
