Competitive Dance Honors Released

LIVONIA, Mich. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its conference honors for competitive dance in conjunction with the 2023 championship.

Emma Daling of Aquinas was named Dancer of the Year after earning Newcomer of the Year last year. Siena Heights freshman Kayla Robinson was awarded this year's Newcomer of the Year as highest scoring newcomer. AQ head coach Ashley Kaman was voted as Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. Concordia head coach Beth Strom was voted by her peers as the Champions of Character Coach for her commitment to character through sport.

In addition to the individual awards, All-Conference Teams, All-Academic, and Champions of Character were released. All-Conference was decided by a scoring panel based on performance of advanced skills during an audition at the event. All-Academic recognizes juniors or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA while Champions of Character nominees best represent the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leaderships.
