Indiana Tech wins inaugural Rocket League Tournament

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (TOURNAMENT PAGE) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) made history on Nov. 20, 2021 with the league's first-ever esports tournament. Seven teams battled in the Rocket League Tournament, one of three tournaments to decide the conference champion, with second-seeded Indiana Tech going through the winner's bracket for the victory.

The teams played a double-elimination tournament with the best of 5 matches until the grand finals, and then the best of 7 grand finals with bracket reset rules.

Indiana Tech started with a 3-2 win against No. 7 Siena Heights. Fourth-seeded Lawrence Tech upset top-seeded Aquinas in the semifinals to set up a match with Indiana Tech in the winner's bracket finals. Indiana Tech won 3-2, sending the Blue Devils to the loser's bracket where LTU once again faced Aquinas, winning 3-1. Indiana Tech defeated Lawrence Tech 3-2 in the grand finals for the tournament title.

The next tournaments, Overwatch and League of Legend, are scheuled for April 9, 2022 and are single-elimination tournaments with the best of three matches.
