Lourdes wins Inaugural Overwatch Tournament

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - The first-ever Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Overwatch Tournament saw all five teams compete with top-seeded Lourdes winning the inaugural championship on April 9. Lourdes received a bye in the first round and defeated fifth-seeded Lawrence Tech 3-0 in the semifinals. The Gray Wolves then defeated No. 3 Indiana Tech 4-0 in the Grand Finals to win the single-elimination tournament. Aquinas played host to the tournament inside the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center.

The Grand Final started on Nepal where the Gray Wolves stifled the Warriors, not letting a single percentage be taken on either of the points and winning 2-0. Indiana Tech decided to take the match to Numbani for the following map and initally found a little bit of success, but a great quintuple kill by Brenden Marsden led Lourdes to a 2-1 victory. After that, the Gray Wolves closed out the series winning 1-0 on Junkertown and 2-1 on Hanamura to capture the title.
