WHAC releases esports honors

HOWELL, Mich. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released additional honors for esports. In addition to the individual games' All-Conference Teams that were released in conjunction with the respective tournaments, the WHAC also named sport-wide honors for All-Academic Team, Champions of Character Team, Coach of the Year, and Champions of Character Coach. 

Voted by his peers, Cleary head coach Nathan Benton was named Coach of the Year. Benton led Cleary to the overall esports championship title, brining the school its first-ever WHAC champion.

Lawrence Tech head coach Daniella Sirekis was voted as the sport's Champions of Character Coach for her committment to the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

The All-Academic Team consists of juniors or above in academic standing who have been in attendance with nominating school for one full year with a cumulative 3.25 GPA.

The Champions of Character Team is comprised of one player from each school who represents core character values.
