UNOH hires Westerlund for MBB position

LIMA, Ohio - (UNOH Release) - UNOH announced Richard Westerlund as its new Head Men's Basketball coach. Westerlund spent the last five years turning Great Lakes Christian College into an NCCAA nationally ranked program. He led the 2019-20 team to the No. 1 ranking before leading the 2021-22 team to the top spot for the entire season. This season, GLCC made its fourth national tournament appearance under Westerlund's guidance.

Westerlund began his coaching career at Harford Christian High School in Maryland where he won the program's first state championship in 2013. He took over at Crossroads College (Minn.) in 2013 and earned an ACCA national championship in his first season. Westerlund also made a brief stop at Wright State – Lake Campus (Ohio).
