Pairings for Men's Basketball Tournament Released
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (TOURNAMENT PAGE) - The 2023 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket is set with Indiana Tech sitting as the top seed. The tournament starts with first round games on Feb. 23 at the higher seeds. The Warriors won the regular season with an 18-2 league record and will host eighth-seeded UNOH as they look to defend their tournament title.
Second-seeded Lourdes (15-5) hosts No. 7-seeded Concordia (8-12) after CUAA won the head-to-head tiebreaker with Aquinas. Madonna takes the third seed after winning the head-to-head tiebreaker with Rochester and hosts No. 6 Lawrence Tech (9-11). Rochester, the No. 4 seed, hosts No. 4 Cornerstone.
The semifinals are slated for Feb. 25 with the championship on Feb. 28 - all with the higher seed hosting. Indiana Tech recevied the league's first automatic berth to the NAIA Opening Round as conference champion. The winner of the conference tournament receives the league's second automatic berth (runner-up if the winner already earned a berth).
