Indiana Tech advances to Quarterfinals at NAIA Men's Basketball Nationals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (Box Score) -  Indiana Tech advanced to the Elite 8 of the 2023 NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship with a 61-51 win against Jamestown (N.D.) at Muncipal Auditorium. The Warriors, a No. 2 seed in the Liston Quadrant,got 17 points from Rog Stein as the only Tech player in double figures. 

Leading by five at half (29-24), Tech stayed out of foul trouble and sent the Jimmies to the line only three times in the second half. 

Tech's defense was the star of the game as the Warriors held Jamestown to just 29% shooting, 22% from behind the three point line. Lucas Lehrman poised a huge threat in the paint as he blocked four Jimmies' shots, three of which in the second half. The Warriors held Jamestown to 31 points below their season average.

Cory McKinney and Blake Davidson each chipped in nine points for the Warriors. Grant Smith grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Jamestown was led by Mason Walters with 26 points and Reid Gastner with 16 rebounds as they end the season at 27-7.

Tech, now 30-4, will face the winner of the No. 1 Arizona Christian/No. 4 Morningside (Iowa) game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
