Madonna's Season Ends in Round of 16 at NAIA Men's Basketball Championship

SIOUX CITY, Iowa. - (Box Score) Madonna men's basketball made it to the NAIA National Championship Round of 16 for the first time in program history this season. The historic run of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Regular season champions came to a close on Friday, March 22 as they fell to regional top-seed and defending national champion College of Idaho, 87-65. Madonna ends the historic season with a 27-7 overall record.

It was a classic tale of two halves as Madonna and College of Idaho were tied up in a close battle in the first with the a slim nod going to the Yotes 40-38 at the end of the first. Madonna held its largest lead of the game, four points, with 10:47 remaining in the first half and the lead changed four different times and was also tied four times throughout the game. College of Idaho got red hot, shooting 55.4% from the field and 42.9% from three and also outrebounded the Crusaders 37-23 in the win. Madonna was led by three scorers in double figures including: Isaac Anderson with 17, Brendan Young with 13 and Matthew MacLellan with 13. Ethan Emerzian added nine off the bench and Sho-Ron Graham added seven. Anderson had four assists, four rebounds and five steals and Young led the squad with five boards.
