UM-Dearborn Alum Jason Gigliotti ('22) Inks Contract With U.M.F Grindavik in Iceland's Top Division

DEARBORN, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball standout Jason Gigliotti ('22) signed an international basketball contract with U.M.F Grindavik of the Icelandic Subway League for the 2024-25 season. 

After an astonishing season last year with Thor Akureyri in Iceland-Division 1, Gigliotti moves to the top league in Icelandic professional basketball. Gigliotti helped Thor AK reach the semifinals after averaging 20.8ppg and ranked second in the league in rebounding with 13.4rpg. The Hartland, Mich. native was tied for second with 1.7 blocks per game and was honored as the League Player of the Week and Eurobasket.com All-Icelandic Division 1 First Team. 

Before Gigliotti arrived at Thor AK, he spent a year in the Italian Serie B Interregionale with Nova Pallacanestro Monteroni, where the team played in the final of the Italian Serie C Puglia Gold in 2023.
