Gibson and Pokorzynski Nab Men's Basketball Weekly Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen Crew Gibson (Indiana Tech) as the Offensive Player of the Week and Caden Pokorzynski (Aquinas) as the Defensive Player of the Week. Gibson averaged 21.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Warriors. The sophomore forward shot 63% from the field and added 24 rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks in the two games. Pokorzynski helped Aquinas to a 2-0 week. He pulled down 29 boards (18 defensive) blocked three shots and averaged 17 points per game in the process.
