Men's Bowling: Lawrence Tech Wins Greater Detroit Classic

ALLEN PARK, Mich. - (Complete Results) The fourth and final WHAC regular season event took place on Saturday inside Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park and the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils earned the big win. LTU earns its second WHAC victory after also finishing first to start the season at the Grand Rapids Classic. On Saturday, LTU had the first, second and third place individual finishers to earn the win. Michael Weber knocked down 974 pins (243.5 avg) including a 269 in the first game to win the individual title. Teammate Micah Grune finished second with 958 (239.5 avg) and fellow teammate Cayleb Carey was third with a 944 (236.5 avg). Brandon Haney of Indiana Tech was fourth (944) while Noah Samuels of LTU rounded out the top five (943).

As a team, LTU knocked down 7,853 pins (3,384 baker, 4,469 team). Aquinas finished second with 7,548 (3,425 baker, 4,123 team) and Indiana Tech came in third with 7,489 pins (3,329 baker, 4,160 team). Next up is the WHAC Championships which are set for Saturday, Feb. 17 at Royal Scot in Lansing, Mich.
