2024 WHAC Men's Bowling Honors Released

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its conference honors for men's bowling in advance of the WHAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Royal Scot in Lansing, Mich. Winners will be honored following the conclusion of the event this weekend.

Indiana Tech junior Brandon Haney was named the WHAC Bowler of the Year thanks to his 231.56 average during the four regular season WHAC events this year.

Joseph DeVita of UM-Dearborn was close behind with a 228.19 while Noah Samuels (Lawrence Tech), Ken Kloth (Madonna) and Alexander Horton (Indiana Tech) rounded out the First Team All-WHAC with 223, 218.69 and 217.69 averages respectively.

Connor Rogus of Concordia, a Second-Team All-WHAC selection with a 215.14 average, was awarded the Newcomer of the Year award. This award is given to the player with the top average who is new to the sport in the conference.

WHAC head coaches voted Lawrence Tech's Jon Putti as the Coach of the Year for leading the Blue Devils to a Co-Regular Season Championship. LTU has now won atleast a share of the Regular Season title in three of the last four seasons. Coaches selected Cleary Head Coach, Hayley Dann, as the Champion of Character Coach.

First and Second Team All-Conference honors were awarded based on season averages.

In addition to All-Conference, the WHAC also named its All-Academic Team for sophomores or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA. Nominees also must have been in attendance at the nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team consists of one student-athlete from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
