Men's Soccer Finals Set - #1 Aquinas to host #2 Indiana Tech

For the fourth consecutive year, the #1 seed will play the #2 seed in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament championship game. This time, #1 Aquinas will welcome #2 Indiana Tech to Grand Rapids for a rematch of the regular season finale that saw the Saints beat the Warriors to earn the regular season title. Indiana Tech has won the last four WHAC tournament titles. Aquinas is looking for its first tournament title since 2012. Game time for Saturday's championship match is set for 3 p.m.

All of the scoring took place in the second half of this semifinal matchup, but the goals came in bunches. WHAC Offensive Player of the Year Ricardo Rittersberger lived up to the title, scoring three goals within a 17 minute stretch to make it 3-0 Aquinas. His first came unassisted in the 60th minute, his second came off a Joshua Clemitson assist in the 64th minute and the hat trick was completed with another Clemitson-assited goal in the 67th minute. WHAC Newcomer of the Year Tevan Jones got on the board in the 76th minute with a goal assisted by Stefano Moraccini and Yussef Hakmaoui to make it 4-0. The lone goal of the night or UNOH came in the 82nd minute when Bjarne Renner scored unassisted to make it 4-1 where it would remain.

#2 Indiana Tech def. #3 Madonna 3-0 Box Score

Indiana Tech took an early lead and never looked back in its semifinal match against Madonna on Wednesday evening in Fort Wayne. The Warriors scored the game winner in just the 7th minute when Jaume Castells Mas netted an unassisted goal to make it 1-0. Ryan Steele used a Warren Moss assist in the 39th minute to make it 2-0 then Moss scored off the Castells Mas assist in the 70th minute to make it 3-0. The Indiana Tech defense held solid, fending off 10 second half shots from Madonna to preserve the shutout and win 3-0.
