Madonna sweeps track weekly awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

WHAC SID's have selected Deveyon Blacknell (Madonna) as the Track Athlete of the Week and Ja'Kelveon Jackson (Madonna) as the Field Athlete of the Week. Blacknell wins his second outdoor weekly award thanks to his efforts at the highly-competitive Texas Relays. He ran a 10.40 100m dash for an NAIA A standard and also earned A standards as part of the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. Teammate Ja'Kelveon Jackson competed in the Bobcat Invitational as well as the Texas Relays and hit a Triple Jump A standard at both events. His best leap was 15.17m which is the current top mark in the NAIA.
