Cornerstone Sweeps Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC Sports Information Directors have selected David Galanes (Cornerstone) as the Attacker of the Week, Ernest Broaster(Cornerstone) as the Defender of the Week and Patrick Voloch (Cornerstone) as the Setter of the Week. The trio led Cornerstone to a pair of straight-set wins over Trinity Christian and Judson over the weekend to kick off the season. Galanes averaged 4.5 kills/set and hit .523 on the weekend including hitting .750 in the win over Judson. He totaled 27 kills and added a pair of service aces. Broaster had seven blocks and eight digs in the two games to go along with seven service aces. Voloch had 63 assists over the two games, averaging 10.50/set. He also had 12 digs, two service aces and four blocks.
